Inconsistances in the Smart case...
The morning Liz was allegedly taken from her home, Ed and Lois were awakened by Mary Katherine at 3:58 A.M. This is the first issue in the Smart case that will prove to be controversial, for at least two reasons.
The first is that Tom Smart has made statements that Ed had phoned him at 3:30 A.M.
The second reason is that Ed made his 911 call at 4:01 A.M.
After making the call Ed has told us that he ran through the neighborhood knocking on neighbors doors. He was able to wake these neighbors and have 12 of them in his house in under 10 minutes when police arrive.
When Ed and Lois were awakened by Mary they began to search the house. Mary told them, " you wont find her because a man with a GUN took her.
" Ed searches his entire 6,600 square foot house in under 3 minutes, 3:58A.M. wake up,4:01A.M.-911 call.
After Ed makes his 911 call he leaves his wife and other children in the home where he has just been told that an armed abductor has taken Liz, and he runs through the neighborhood knocking on doors.
Keep in mind that as far as Ed knew this armed man may still be in the home, yet he has left his family there.
When the police arrive at about 4:13 A.M. they find between 10 and 12 neighbors in the home.
Tom Smart arrives a short time later and he states that when he arrived that there was crime scene tape around the home.
That isn't true.
Shortly after his arrival they arrange to have a family meeting at their father's home.
Ed and Tom leave for this family meeting. Keep in mind that they have left the home with 12 neighbors and a few cops in the house.
After this family meeting they return to Ed's house and there is now close to 50 friends and neighbors in the home. It is close to 7:00 A.M. now, almost 3 hours after the police were called, and the crime scene still hasn't been sealed.
But right after returning from the family meeting, the police do seal the scene and they run everyone, all 50 neighbors out of the house.
Ed did not make his 911 call as a kidnapping.
The police were ask why it took them so long to seal the crime scene, and their response was," we were unsure what type of case we had on our hands." What part of armed kidnapping would a police officer have a difficult time understanding?
How could it possibly take 3 hours and a family meeting to understand that a 14 year old was kidnapped?
I think the problem was that the armed kidnapping was a manufactured story that developed in that family meeting. For three hours the police believed that they had a run-away on their hands. That three hours may be the only time in this case that the police were right.
The night before Elizabeth came up missing, was the night of her award ceremony at her school. She was scheduled to perform on her harp. She never made it to her harp performance that night.
Keep in mind that the harp was the center of Elizabeth's life.
For her to miss a once in a life-time performance because as Ed said,"we were running late," is not believable. We know that Liz went jogging before her scheduled award ceremony,she also took Mary Katherine with her. On this jog, did they meet Mitchell as he was returning to his camp in the hills? It's possible. It is also possible that he began to preach to them and being religiously vulnerable, Liz and Mary listened to him. Liz may have believed that he was either God or maybe the second coming of Christ. She has been taught these things all her life.
She may have felt very chosen by this encounter. He may have requested that she meet him back there later that night. There is a reason that Liz was so late for her award ceremony that she couldn't perform on her harp. There was either serious trouble between her and her parents, or she met someone on her jog that made her late.
Before the home was even sealed as a crime scene, when the police still didn't know what type of case they had on there hands, sometime between 5:00A.M. and 7:00A.M. the family sent friends and neighbors to the closest convenience stores to search for Liz.
That is understandable.
But they also sent them up City Creek Canyon to search. Why there? Why did they send people up that canyon before the police even knew what type of case they had on their hands?
Why did they send these people up a canyon that is known to be a canyon that Mitchell camps in? That in and of itself is an indicator to me that the Smarts' knew of Liz's contact with Mitchell before June 5th.
As the days and weeks move on we have Ricci come into the picture. It was clear to me that Ricci was a scape-goat from the very beginning.
I won't even touch on the Ricci issue here except I do want to bring up Neth Moul. Neth Moul went to a Federal Grand Jury and testified that Ricci had brought the Jeep back caked in mud and that he watched him remove the seat covers and post diggers. He also said that Ricci showed up looking worried and waring a machete. Neth hurried and washed the Jeep before police arrived as he thought he was doing them a favor. This is one person that is hiding out from the media now, but he was the center of the police investigation and I hope he is indited for his lies!
Skipping up to October. One night Mary Kathrine goes to Ed and says, dad I think I know who took Elizabeth. I don't think that all of the sudden Mary just got hit with this information. She either knew Mitchell from the jog on the evening of June 4th or Liz had made contact with her in an attempt to get Mary to join her in her new life with these wonderful, Godly, party animals. It was documented that Liz and the Mitchell's were living in an apartment just a few blocks from Mary's school.
Did they try to get her to join the little cult? Possible. When things didn't work out the way Mitchell planned he got nervous and left for California. Then he got nervous in California because he couldn't live up to his sentence for burglary.
So he comes back to Salt Lake on the same day that the Smart's go public announcing their discouragement over the way the police are handling the case.
When Mitchell was ask where he got his money from, he told the police that he got it from God. Supporting two women on the streets by panhandling isn't an easy task, but Mitchell was a regular customer of Wild Oats. And Liz doesn't appear to have missed too many meals. Who is this Money-God that Mitchell mentioned?
Did the Smarts' lie about the armed abduction? I think they did.
It was a lie of love and concern,I'm sure.
They lied to draw as much police and media attention as they could to their run-away daughter.
There were times over the last nine months that I felt some of them should be in jail for their lies. I was tired of hearing them, and the longer that Liz was missing, the more I wanted the truth. It's a good thing that the truth is no longer important to me since Liz is home, because we are never going to get the truth.
I find it quite ironic that Ed has hyped the Amber Alert more than he has hyped the return of his daughter.
I support Ed in his efforts. But with the Amber Alert comes responsibility. The responsibility of not using such a system to report a run-away child as an armed abduction. So while I support the Amber Alert, I also support passing very strict criminal laws for people that abuse the system with manufactured stories of abduction .
During the past week I have been hit with more oddities and questions:
According to the charges, Liz was kept in this hole in the ground from June 5 through October 8.

They specify that there was no plumbing, no water supply, the hole was covered with boards, etc.
So how did this trio manage to parade around SLC in those clean white robes and veils?
There are pictures of them at the party in September and pictures of them in Liberty Park in August.......IN CLEAN WHITE ROBES.
(Ed Smart has had all photographs of Elizabeth seen at parties removed from the Internet...it would have been hard to'prove' in a trial the case they had planned, with Elizabeth in public view...and her claiming the abuse she has sworn to under oath in the last months events...another reason why Mitchel and Wanda were locked up for seven years without charge. What has happened to these two people is truly dispicable but with reports now of Bradley Manning and the way he is being treated it seems like this is American unjustice. )
Also, when they were arrested, Mitchell and Barzee looked as if they hadn't bathed in weeks.Their hair was greasy and matted in their police photos.
Yet Elizabeth came trotting out of that police station with apparently clean hair up in braids and wearing an apparently clean shirt. (And, of course, in spite of her severe trauma, she went straight home to watch a movie, give a fashion show, take a bubble bath and paint her toenails.

One other thing that is really weighing on my mind here.We're now being told that this group walked 4 miles from the Smarts' house up into that canyon.
Those 3 would have left a SCENT TRAIL that my chihuahua could have followed!!!
Why did Dwayne Baird LIE and say that the dog lost the scent because "too much time had passed" from the time of the abduction and the time the dogs were brought in???
Those dogs were there at 9 a.m. Seven hours is NOTHING for a scent dog! That one thing makes it look like even the POLICE knew where she was and were helping keep her hidden.
The Smarts trying to call the shots on what charges would be filed absolutely floored me. I know the easy answer is that they don't want Elizabeth to have to go through the trauma of testifying on sex charges, but I have to wonder if there's something more. Do they not want to get into the possibility that it was consensual?

The disappearance of Salt Lake City’s Elizabeth Smart has taken some surprising new twists: The current edition of the National Enquirer, which has done yeoman’s work on the disappearance and murder of Chandra Levy, has hit the news stands with a World Exclusive, indicating that her father and her two uncles are intimately involved in Sado-Masochism, and homosexual affairs: the reporting cites sources familiar with the case, who say that diaries, and computer-stored homosexual adult pornography were discovered in a search of Edward Smart’s home office computer. And, his brother, Tom Smart, has also had his computer and hard-drive “confiscated” by investigators: the brother lives in Park City, Utah. This is very explosive information, as one of the brothers so named has been appointed ‘the Smart family spokesman,’ and the conservative social dogma of the Mormons – the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints – is not known for having a diffident attitude towards gay sexuality. Compiled by lead reporter Alan Butterfield, and with the help of Courtney Callahan, Michelle Caruso, Alan Smith and John South, the article is featured in a top-of-the-front page banner. Their agents from the Salt Lake City office have travelled to West Virginia to interview Brett Michael Edmunds, who is said not to be a suspect in the disappearance and abduction of Smart, but who is wanted for questioning (and for fleeing from prosecution for a previous fracas with the police). He is in a hospital ward in Martinsburg, with liver problems related to drug abuse (he had a history of that, going back to his high school years). Compare the considerable efforts being made by the FBI in regard to this matter, with their nearly complete lack of concern over the murder of blonde Suzanne Jovin, in New Haven, on December 4th of 1998. What is the difference, here? Jovin was blonde, with blue eyes and a sweet temperament. She was well-liked and was beloved of her family, too. Was she murdered because of that? Was she murdered because only a few days earlier, a full professor at Yale had been arrested for having child pornography – much of it explicitly homosexual pornography – on his computer? Was she killed to send that professor, Antonio Lasaga, now a convicted felon and a proven pedophile, a message … as in – “don’t talk about what you know!” Was she? |

There are several different reasons as to why I finally came to the decision with my husband Gerry to write and publish a book. This decision has not been an easy one. Many factors needed to be given thorough and careful consideration, not least the impact of such a book on the lives of our three children. My reason for writing is simple; to give an account of the truth.Publishing this book has been a very difficult decision and is one that we have taken after much deliberation and with a very heavy heart. However, in the last few months with the depletion of Madeleine’s Fund, it is a decision that has virtually been taken out of our hands.
Every penny we raise through its sales will be spent on our search for Madeleine. Nothing is more important to us than finding our little girl.
We are hopeful that this book may help the investigation to find Madeleine in other ways too. Our hope is that it may prompt those who have relevant information (knowingly or not) to come forward and share it with our team. Somebody holds that ‘key piece of the jigsaw’.
Bill Scott-Kerr, Publisher at Transworld, bought the book from the Christopher Little Literary Agency for publication in Spring 2011. All royalties will be donated directly to Madeleine’s Fund – Leaving No Stone Unturned Limited.

Comment: Of course this is not true , Kate McCann , not known for her honesty, wanted to write a book within the year, eight months after Madeleines demise to be precise...just like the Smarts did with their movie. However, the British public were apalled and the McCanns backed off. Oddly enough ,they wanted to call the book 'Their year of hell'...must have borrowed that from Elizabeth and her 'nine months of hell'. It is so easy on the Internet for the McCanns to follow high profile cases like the Smarts and Ramseys to know the 'right' things to do and say. The fund is not a charity but a private company , the McCanns ' cunning as a pair of foxes' are now directors of this fund which means the money goes to them to do with as they wish. I wonder if Kate will be explaining in her book the allegations made about Dr.David Payne and suggested paedophilia , or why he telephoned May 4th , a child abuse centre but hung up after a matter of seconds?...Or is this not relevant in Kates 'account of her truth?'

The Gaspar statement, 'on record'....this is not so easy to wipe from the Internet as it is an official part of the Investigation. Ed Smart however, had no problem removing the homosexual allegations made against him and his brothers circulating at the time Elizabethran away ' alleged abduction' because these allegations were via the media. David Payne and Gerry McCann terrified this piece of information will reach British shores and no small wonder.... it will blow the whole groups ' alleged abduction' right out of the water.

Kate and Gerry McCann are to write a book about their 'year of hell' without missing daughter Madeleine, it was revealed yesterday.
The couple could make up to £1million in a deal for a tell-all memoir about Madeleine's disappearance and their eight months as police suspects.
Several publishers have approached them amid intense interest in the year-long case, sparking the possibility of a bidding frenzy for the book.
The couple's spokesman Clarence Mitchell said they wanted to raise money for the dwindling Find Madeleine appeal fund, and to counter a campaign of smears from inside the police investigation.
Last week it emerged that the former head of the Madeleine investigation, Goncalo Amaral, has written a book about the case, with the working title 'The Truth of the Lie'.
Insiders said it would contain explosive details about the police inquiry and the decision to name the McCanns as suspects, or arguidos.
Mr Mitchell confirmed that Mr McCann, 39, had met with one publishing house and had been approached by several others.
He insisted any money raised by a book would go to the Find Madeleine fund, and not to the McCanns themselves.
Mr Mitchell said: 'A number of publishers have approached us, as have some authors, but no deal has been done.
'The idea of writing an official book at some point is appealing. It's a legitimate way of raising money for the fund but would also give them a chance to put across their side of the story, and to talk about some of the wider issues.'
The McCanns have considered a series of lucrative deals to fund their continuing search for their missing daughter, who disappeared from their holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, almost a year ago. Madeleine, then three, was left alone with her two-year-old twin brother and sister while their parents went out for dinner nearby with friends.
They suffered a public backlash after it emerged that their representatives had begun negotiations with the world's largest entertainment agency, IMG, over selling the film rights to their story, and discussed bids from Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters in the U.S. for their first major chatshow appearance.
Mr and Mrs McCann, of Rothley, Leicestershire, remain desperate to raise money for the Find Madeleine fund amid fears that the £1.2million raised from public donations will run out within months.
The independent television production company Mentorn Media made a £10,000 donation to the fund in return for the couple's cooperation with a two-hour documentary, due to be shown on ITV1 on Wednesday night.
In the film Mrs McCann, 40, spoke of her renewed hope that her oldest daughter was still alive but admitted that on some days she was 'desperate' and considered giving up.
She said: 'You have days when you're so down and desperate and tired, you think you've got to switch off and I think, okay, we've tried really hard and we've come up with nothing and now we need to make the best of what we've got.
'(But) we're never going to hit that day. It doesn't matter how small the possibility is (of Madeleine being found alive), the possibility is still there.'
She added: 'There were many moments where we hit rock bottom and sobbed, wondering how we could survive without knowing where our little girl was.
'It is pure torture to deal with and it has been a long year of hell. But what keeps us going is our overwhelming faith that Madeleine is alive and will come home.'

Mr Mitchell said the couple were 'daunted' by the approaching anniversary on Saturday and the publicity surrounding it, but wanted to use it as a chance to 're-energise' the search for their missing daughter.
Mr Mitchell refused to comment on reports they had received death threats to their home but said they had contacted police over two letters.
He said: 'The vast majority is supportive, or at least polite, but very occasionally there is something nasty. On two occasions we have had to refer it to the police, but I don't want to go into any detail about that.'
A book about the couple's ordeal could raise £1million for the Find Madeleine fund, according to the former head of buying for Waterstone's, Scott Pack.
He said: 'It could go for a million. There is a feeling that we know everything there is to know about this story but the public are still fascinated.
'It has the potential to be of enormous interest with buyers across the market, from the literary middle class audience who think "This could have been us" to the mass market who buy books in supermarkets and have been devouring this story for a year.'
But publisher Patrick Jenson-Smith said it could be difficult to sell 'a story without a conclusion'.
Books by Sara Payne, the mother of murdered schoolgirl Sarah Payne, and Kevin Wells, the father of Soham murder victim Holly Wells, both dominated the bestsellers lists in Britain for months.
A series of books about the year-long hunt for Madeleine, written by journalists, criminologist and policemen, have already proved popular in Portugal.

Every penny we raise through its sales will be spent on our search for Madeleine. Nothing is more important to us than finding our little girl.
We are hopeful that this book may help the investigation to find Madeleine in other ways too. Our hope is that it may prompt those who have relevant information (knowingly or not) to come forward and share it with our team. Somebody holds that ‘key piece of the jigsaw’.

Comment: Of course this is not true , Kate McCann , not known for her honesty, wanted to write a book within the year, eight months after Madeleines demise to be precise...just like the Smarts did with their movie. However, the British public were apalled and the McCanns backed off. Oddly enough ,they wanted to call the book 'Their year of hell'...must have borrowed that from Elizabeth and her 'nine months of hell'. It is so easy on the Internet for the McCanns to follow high profile cases like the Smarts and Ramseys to know the 'right' things to do and say. The fund is not a charity but a private company , the McCanns ' cunning as a pair of foxes' are now directors of this fund which means the money goes to them to do with as they wish. I wonder if Kate will be explaining in her book the allegations made about Dr.David Payne and suggested paedophilia , or why he telephoned May 4th , a child abuse centre but hung up after a matter of seconds?...Or is this not relevant in Kates 'account of her truth?'

Kate and Gerry McCann are to write a book about their 'year of hell' without missing daughter Madeleine, it was revealed yesterday.
The couple could make up to £1million in a deal for a tell-all memoir about Madeleine's disappearance and their eight months as police suspects.
Several publishers have approached them amid intense interest in the year-long case, sparking the possibility of a bidding frenzy for the book.

The couple's spokesman Clarence Mitchell said they wanted to raise money for the dwindling Find Madeleine appeal fund, and to counter a campaign of smears from inside the police investigation.
Last week it emerged that the former head of the Madeleine investigation, Goncalo Amaral, has written a book about the case, with the working title 'The Truth of the Lie'.
Insiders said it would contain explosive details about the police inquiry and the decision to name the McCanns as suspects, or arguidos.
Mr Mitchell confirmed that Mr McCann, 39, had met with one publishing house and had been approached by several others.
He insisted any money raised by a book would go to the Find Madeleine fund, and not to the McCanns themselves.

'The idea of writing an official book at some point is appealing. It's a legitimate way of raising money for the fund but would also give them a chance to put across their side of the story, and to talk about some of the wider issues.'
The McCanns have considered a series of lucrative deals to fund their continuing search for their missing daughter, who disappeared from their holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, almost a year ago. Madeleine, then three, was left alone with her two-year-old twin brother and sister while their parents went out for dinner nearby with friends.
They suffered a public backlash after it emerged that their representatives had begun negotiations with the world's largest entertainment agency, IMG, over selling the film rights to their story, and discussed bids from Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters in the U.S. for their first major chatshow appearance.
Mr and Mrs McCann, of Rothley, Leicestershire, remain desperate to raise money for the Find Madeleine fund amid fears that the £1.2million raised from public donations will run out within months.
The independent television production company Mentorn Media made a £10,000 donation to the fund in return for the couple's cooperation with a two-hour documentary, due to be shown on ITV1 on Wednesday night.
In the film Mrs McCann, 40, spoke of her renewed hope that her oldest daughter was still alive but admitted that on some days she was 'desperate' and considered giving up.
She said: 'You have days when you're so down and desperate and tired, you think you've got to switch off and I think, okay, we've tried really hard and we've come up with nothing and now we need to make the best of what we've got.
'(But) we're never going to hit that day. It doesn't matter how small the possibility is (of Madeleine being found alive), the possibility is still there.'
She added: 'There were many moments where we hit rock bottom and sobbed, wondering how we could survive without knowing where our little girl was.
'It is pure torture to deal with and it has been a long year of hell. But what keeps us going is our overwhelming faith that Madeleine is alive and will come home.'

Gerry McCann is more convinced than ever that his daughter Madeleine is alive, following a meeting with US detectives.
Almost exactly a year after she disappeared from the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz on 3 May, he firmly believes the youngster is 'out there' after assurances from officers involved in America's system for tracking down missing children.
McCann and his wife, Kate, met officials from the US Amber Alert system, who reassured them that the majority of abducted children are found alive and that Madeleine's age -four - increased her chances of being found safe and well.
During a recent trip to the US, the couple also met Ed Smart whose teenage daughter, Elizabeth, was missing for nine months before being found alive. Smart campaigned vigorously to keep his daughter's disappearance in the media until a passer-by recognised her with her abductor in the street.
McCann said: 'We've spoken to a lot of people who have said that this is a country that has more than two stereotypical kidnappings per week, and of those only 40 to 50 per cent end up being found dead and, most importantly of all, the younger the child, the less likely the serious harm.
'And yes, there was a first time I've thought: "I really believe it".'

Gerry McCann rushed straight to Washington in 2007 and many wondered why, Madeleine certainly was not with Ed Smart. I wonder if Ed Smart would have been so quick to protect Dr.McCann if he had known of the suggested paedophilia amongst the group of Doctors? This witness statement (please read above link), in the book written by the detective who worked on the case...maybe many will now see why the McCanns do not wish for this book to be published in English and why it is vital for them to destroy Dr.Goncalo Amaral. NANCY GRACE likes cold cases, maybe she could invite Dr.Amaral and have a little chat about his book. I think this is only fair as the McCanns ,thanks to Ed Smart appeared on the Ophrah Winfrey show.
The Smarts had a movie up and running within eight months of Elizabeths 'traumatic 'return from nine months of hell. Elizabeth , so traumatised by her ordeal wished to relive it all over again by playing herself in the American drama (her kind offer was declined). The entire family jumped on the bandwagon and there were books galore about the 'Mormon girl' who after claiming to have been raped four times each day, weeks of being tethered to a tree did not go to the hospital but went home to play her harp and watch her favourite movie 'The Trouble with Angels'
Money is what it is all about and I leave you with a quote from the investigator who co-ordinated the McCann case Dr.Goncalo Amaral.( The McCanns are at the moment doing an 'Ed Smart' they too are writing a book. The parents of Madeleine are now directors of the fund which means the money will go straight into their pockets.) One might say that is a 'Smart' move..
