James Holmes Shooting : BUT No One Wants To Discuss The Mormon Missing Person Hoax ?
MORMONS brainbleached the world with the Smart missing person hoax, believed to this day as an abduction
Smart partying with her 'abductor' two days before his arrest.
The day of Smarts 'abductors' arrest - demonized for the Americans. Notice the beard length made longer and shades of grey added.
Smart the moment she was 'found'. Who washed and braided her hair for the photoshoot? Is this a victim of thrice daily rape ?
Wanda, I would imagine braided the hair of Elizabeth. The Police when they finally caught up with the runaway teen said ' What will happen to my friends'? Hardly the words of a victim !
AND YES she did say to the police 'you think I am the girl who ran away'
AND Never Look A Gift Horse In The Mouth. Within A Month New Child Protection Laws were In Place

#Scientology:Marty Rathbun Falls Out With The Powers That Be - So He Breaks Away Re-Groups Forms His Own Cult Stabbing His Former Church In The Back.
A former Scientology chief has sensationally claimed the church brainwashed Tom Cruise’s children and turned them against the star’s ex-wife Nicole Kidman.
Marty Rathbun, who worked at the secretive church for 27 years before leaving in 2004, said he believed officials used Scientology doctrine to turn the Oscar winner’s adopted children against her after she divorced Cruise in 2001.
His comments could shed more light on Scientology - and just why Katie Holmes was so keen to win sole custody of her young daughter as she filed for divorce from Cruise recently.
Mr Rathbun claimed that he had counselled A list star Cruise, 50, in countless sessions that the church refers to as ‘auditing’ at the Scientology celebrity center in California.
Mission Impossible star Cruise has two children that he adopted with Miss Kidman, daughter Isabella, now 19, and son Connor, now 17.
And when the children were with the father they were left in the grip of Scientology staff, according to Mr Rathbun.
Mr Rathbun told NBC’s Rock Center with Brian Williams: ‘...they were being indoctrinated, and they were reporting to Tom on how that was going in my presence.
He claimed that church officials told Isabella, then nine, and Connor, then six, that their mother was a ‘suppressive person’, which the church’s website, , defines as ‘a person who seeks to suppress other people in their vicinity.’
He said: ‘It was more than implied....[Kidman] was somebody that they shouldn’t open up with, they shouldn’t communicate with, and they shouldn’t spend much time with,’
The Scientology website reads: ‘A suppressive Person will goof up or vilify any effort to help anybody and particularly knife with violence anything calculated to make human beings more powerful or more intelligent.
‘The ‘suppressive person’ is also known as the ‘anti-social personality’. Within this category you would find ‘Napoleon, Hitler, the unrepentant killer and the drug lord,’ according to the website.
Mr Rathbun also insisted that the Church of Scientology closely monitors the communication of high profile members and orders members to sever ties with suppressive people, particularly those who are critical of the church.
He said: ‘That person could be your son, it could be your daughter, it could be your father, it could be your mother. It doesn’t matter.’
Speaking about the Cruise children, he said: ‘They were being steered toward and indoctrinated toward coming to the conclusion that Nicole was a suppressive person.
In 2007, Miss Kidman admitted: ‘My kids don’t call me mummy,’ as she said they referred to her as Nicole - while Miss Holmes said the children had started calling her mum.
The actress went on to have two young daughters with her second husband, singer Keith Urban, but still maintains a relationship with her adopted children, as Isabella said in May: ‘I love mom. She’s my mom. She’s great. I see her sometimes and I speak to her.”
Miss Holmes, 33, and Cruise this week agreed to the terms of a deal of a divorce whereby their six-year-old daughter Suri will live with her mother in New York.
In a thinly veiled comment on Scientology, the couple released a shared statement that read: ‘We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents.’
Miss Kidman’s publicist did not comment.
While Cruise’s spokesman Bert Fields told the NBC show that Mr Rathbun was not a reliable source, calling him ‘A bitter ex-Scientologist who spends most of his time attacking Scientology and using Tom Cruise’s name to get attention for his bigoted diatribe. If he “audited” Mr Cruise, he is violating the privilege of that position by discussing it.’
Fields added: ‘It is absolutely false that Mr Cruise, or anyone else to his knowledge, did or said anything to lessen Connor and Bella’s communication or relationship with their mother. On the contrary, Mr Cruise did all he could to encourage that relationship.’
In a letter to NBC News, Gary Soter, a lawyer for the Church of Scientology, wrote that Mr Rathbun was an unreliable source and a liar. Mr Soter described Mr Rathbun as ‘a defrocked ex-communicated apostate.’
When asked about the allegations against him, Mr Rathbun replied: ‘Then why was I assigned by the Chairman of the Board to audit Tom Cruise during the last four years of my involvement at the Church of Scientology?’

#Scientology:Herber Jentsch - Ex Wife Denied The Right To See Her Dead Son's Body.
The mother of 27-year-old Scientologist Alexander Jentzsch, did not find out that her son died in the San Fernando Valley until days later and says that she won’t be allowed to see her son’s body at the morgue.
Karen de la Carriere, who was once married to current Scientology president Heber Jentzsch and left the Church in 2010, said that Alexander’s wife, who is also a Scientologist, is refusing to let the grieving mother view her son’s body.
She also said that she was not informed of her son’s death – supposedly from severe influenza – for days, and had to find out from a friend, later confirming Alexander’s death with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office of her son’s passing.
‘They didn’t inform me, they didn’t inform Herber,’ she told the Village Voice. Alexander was apparently hiking in California's San Fernando Valley and caught a severe fever.
Heber Jentzsch has not been seen in public for nearly a decade, one of several high-profile Scientology members removed from the public eye. The wife of church leader David Miscavige, Michelle ‘Shelly’ Barnett, has not been seen since 2007.
Ms de la Carriere did not immediately return requests for comment from the MailOnline, but told the Village Voice in an emotional conversation the details surrounding her son’s death.
She said that Alexander ‘had a high fever, and the next morning, he was icy cold and he was dead,’ the mother said.
Ms de la Carriere told the Voice: ‘The dead body of the son of the president of the Church of Scientology has been sitting in a morgue for days, and they didn’t tell me because I’m a declared SP.’
She was excommunicated after she left the Church, and was branded a ‘suppressive person,’ the Voice reported.
She told RadarOnline.com that Alexander’s wife, Andrea, refuses to let her see her son’s body.
When Ms de la Carriere sent a friend over to their home with a letter for Andrea, the friend was turned away with the message, ‘All communication goes through the Office of Special Affairs.’
The mother told the Village Voice that the Church created a ‘hate website’ about her, and coerced Alexander to cut all ties with her.
She said that he was spoon fed what to tell her, including the words: ‘Never phone me, never e-mail me. Until you get your s*** together, we can have no communication. 'Until then, we are disconnected.’
The mother added: ‘For two years, he disconnected from me, and now he’s dead.’
She found out three days after the fact that her son had died from former Scientology spokesman Mike Rinder.
Apparently, Andrea had told some of her Scientology friends on Facebook about Alexander’s death, and the news eventually tricked down to Rinder, who currently lives in Florida, RadarOnline.com reported.
Once told by Mr Rinder, Ms de la Carriere called the coroner’s office, which solidly confirmed her son’s death.
In an explosive tell all published on a friend’s blog in 2010, Ms de la Carriere revealed her struggle with the religion, and explained how Alexander, who was born in 1984, was inculcated with the beliefs of Scientology from infancy.
'The dead body of the son of the president of the Church of Scientology has been sitting in a morgue for days, and they didn’t tell me because I'm a declared SP.'
-Karen de la Carriere
According to her, Alexander was a member of Sea Org for more than a decade.
She also wrote of the policies surrounding Scientology and reproduction.
Alexander’s wife, Andrea, became pregnant in 2007. She wrote in the post: ‘Pressure is brought to bear for an abortion. It is done skilfully – no heavy threats, but both are taken off post to look at “the greatest good…” In the end, Andrea had an abortion and they were returned to post.’
Ms de la Carriere said in a 2011 interview that she and then-husband Heber had to petition for a second child, a newly-ordained rule at the time.
She said she wanted a girl. ‘A new had come out that you had to petition to have a baby,' she explained. 'And along with the petition, you were to name why should be allowed to have a baby.’
Ms de la Carriere said that though she and her husband petitioned for three months, their petition was denied. She also said that her husband was beaten for making the request.
She again became pregnant three years later.
A spokesperson from the Church of Scientology International told MailOnline: ‘Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Heber Jentzsch and his entire family during this difficult time.
‘The Church takes offense at the irresponsible and false claims from excommunicated self-promoters who are sadly exploiting private family matters for their own personal financial gain.’
The religion has again come into the spotlight after supposedly playing a central role in the divorce of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise.
In light of the rumours that Cruise’ devotion to Scientology- and his supposed desire to enrol Suri in one of the religion’s intense boot camps - was one of the main causes for their split, two senior Church administrators sent a panicked email giving followers advice on how to counter the negative press storm.
The letter comes the day after one of the most noted ‘defectors’ from the religion predicted that Cruise’ latest divorce could be the ‘biggest nightmare in the Church of Scientology’s history’ because of the drama that could unfold if secrets are publicly revealed in court.

Ernie Allen : Missing Child Fraud
Ernie Allen Testifies Before U.S. Congress,
Admits to Four Hundred Cases of Missing Child Fraud
Dateline: Washington, DC, 2 December 2009
But don't expect to see it on the Commission's official web site any time soon; it appears that their web site hasn't been updated since April of 2009. How much do Congressman James P. McGovern and Congressman Frank R. Wolf, co-Chairmen of the Commission, really care about securing human rights when they cannot even be bothered to ensure that their own Commission's web site is updated?
No matter: the written testimony of Mr. Ernie Allen was courteously uploaded to the web by Congressman Chris Smith. For the time being it can also be found at the American Center's web site as well as at the web site of its "international" subsidiary.
After presenting the usual boilerplate about the American organisations and missing children, Mr. Allen shares some current statistics deriving from his corporate database, in order to "help illustrate the scope of the problem of international child abduction". According to Mr. Allen:
NCMEC is currently working cases involving 1,214 children who were abducted by a non-custodial parent from the United States to a foreign country. The majority of these children were taken to the following countries: Mexico (533 children); Japan (54 children); India (32 children); Egypt (30 children); the United Kingdom (24 children); and Canada (23 children). These are interesting statistics, and not just because they exist at all. They are interesting because they demonstrate that the American Center's database contains information that is not exposed to the public through their search engine. While there is a field (called abductedCountry) that is supposed to indicate the "possible location" of a "missing" child in a particular country, our search today for all children possibly in Mexico returned a measley twenty-two (22) records, for the United Kingdom one (1) record, and for all three of Romania, Bulgaria and Greece no records whatsoever. Notably we have verified the location of children advertised as "missing" by the American organisations in all four of the above mentioned European Member States. None of these children were identified in the results of our search of the American database as even possibly located in their actual countries of residence!
Now consider Mexico. It is possible that Mr. Allen was being literal in stating that 533 children "were taken to" Mexico, while only 22 are possibly now located there. Logically this would imply that Mexico would have to be primarily a transit country for these children, with only a fraction of them (~5%) likely to remain there following their removal from the United States. It seems unlikely, but it could happen.
Does it, though?
Our concern isn't addressed, but let us courteously suspend our disbelief while we continue to parse Mr. Allen's statement. He starts making recommendations to the Tom Lantos Commission on page 5 of his testimony. The first four recommendations are vacuous generalities that can be pithly abbreviated to "everyone should do a better job". Then comes the bombshell, which we quote in full:
Finally, I believe we should amend the federal definition of ‘missing child’ that was established by the Missing Children’s Assistance Act of 1984 and codified at 42 U.S.C. §5772. In parental abduction cases, law enforcement may be hesitant to classify the child as ‘missing’ since the child does not technically fit within the current federal definition of ‘missing child’: a child whose whereabouts are unknown to the child’s legal custodian. Parental abduction cases are unique -- the left-behind parent may know the exact whereabouts of the ‘missing’ child but is unable to bring the child home. This problem can be solved by adding the description “or who was removed from the control of such individual's legal custodian in violation of law or judicial order” to the federal definition of ‘missing child.’ This not only reinforces law enforcement’s jurisdiction over these criminal cases, it also ensures that they will be given the same resources and support as non-family abductions. In addition, clarifying the definition of ‘missing child’ to include family-abducted children ensures that law enforcement will enter these cases into the FBI’s National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database. NCIC entry of these children is critical to ensuring that law enforcement resources are dedicated to these abductions. Approximately one-third of NCMEC’s current international abductions have not been entered into NCIC.This official testimony appears to contain the first ever admission by any representative of the American center that a full one-third of its current cases are probable if not certain cases of missing child fraud.
That is four hundred (400) children being falsely advertised by the American center, right now, as though they were "missing".
Thanks to the efforts of the members of our committee, Mr. Allen sees the writing on the wall, but he hasn't yet gotten the message. The real issue is not that law enforcement is "hesitant" to classify a child as "missing" when the child's whereabouts are in fact known. It's that capable law enforcement officers know better than to lie to the very public whose diligence is needed to find genuinely missing children.
Mr. Allen is personally raking in nearly one million U.S. Dollars ($1.000.000,00) annually courtesy of the United States taxpayer. On the basis of his Center's missing children statistics, Congress rewarded the American Center with a huge budget that must be the envy of every NGO on the planet, without any oversight or preconditions. Yet, were it not for the pressure being placed on Mr. Allen by members of this committee, in both civil and criminal proceedings, the American public and the world community would still be entirely unaware that they were being misled.
The December 2, 2009 testimony of Mr. Ernie Allen before the Tom Lantos Commission demonstrates that the American organisations are hiding from the public their real knowledge about the children they advertise as "missing". Mr. Allen's recommendation to modify the federal definition of ‘missing child’ is self-serving and does nothing for the little victims of missing child fraud.
We continue to call on our colleagues in the United States and their international supporters to respect the fundamental right of these children to a safe and private childhood.

Elizabeth Smart Adds to the Madeleine McCann Misinformation Factory by Chelsea Hoffman
http://news.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474981316554
Elizabeth Smart survived a pretty traumatic ordeal as an abducted teen who was held captive as a pedophile's plaything for the greater part of a year. However, that does not make her an expert in abduction and missing persons case, and it certainly doesn't make her exempt from needing to "research" things before she speaks.
Elizabeth Smart offered her two cents' on the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. Now, anyone who has done even basic research of this case is well aware of all of the evidence found in the investigation that alludes to the idea that Maddie died in Portugal. In fact, cadaver and blood dogs hit on spots found only in the vacation apartment inhabited by the McCanns as well as their rental car. In fact, tests run on the evidence found in the McCann rental car showed that Maddie was sedated with drugs with lethal levels. Of course the DNA results only matched the child by 88% but given that the dog scented human cadaver oil, it's rather obvious that the DNA is a match for the missing child and not any of her female relatives who did not vanish.
So for Smart to repeat her same old tired speech about every single high profile missing persons case is just borderline stupid. Is she not aware that there was absolutely no evidence of a "break-in" or "abduction?" Is she not aware of the findings of a specifically trained, world-known cadaver dog?
Madeleine McCann is most likely not alive, and all Elizabeth Smart is doing is falling back on the same phrase she uses for every missing case she's offered her 'expert' analysis on since she became a correspondent. Giving people false hope and continuing the false PR of the McCann family is only further distracting people from the evidence that shows blatantly what may have happened to Madeleine McCann.

Elizabeth Smart : Where She Claimed Her 'Trauma' Played Out.
Nicole Richardson said, "I saw them about three times on the bus."
They sought warmer weather in California, then returned to Utah.
In February of 2003, police asked for help locating a drifter known as "Emmanuel," Mitchell's alias, and on March 12, two couples spotted him and called police. Elizabeth was found.
Ed Smart said, "I couldn't believe it. In fact, I had to take a double-take and pull her away from me and say, ‘Is it really you?'"
Few details emerged about Elizabeth's ordeal

It won't wash picking up on old habits, it did not work then and it will not work now. America has lived through the murder of Caylee and the Casey Anthony trial. Anthony likened only yesterday to Healy . The Americans are sick and tired of faked abductions and parents turning their child's death into cottage industries. Nice try lying Lizzy .
Isabel Celis, her parents are doing a McCann, Smart or Irwin - take your pick.

A reminder of how McCann used Ed Smart to tell the American people he had been framed by the PJ.
Gerry McCann told Smart that he would not be surprised if the police planted evidence in his car, rented 25 days after he claimed his daughter was abducted by a paedophile , Smart was repeating McCanns words verbatim on Larry King Live Show suggesting the Portuguese police were trying to frame his new buddy Gerry McCann ! !!!! Cadaver dogs did indeed pick up on the trunk of the car, mothers clothing , apartment and the childs soft toy.Maddies body has never been found and the McCanns were not charged, the case shelved waiting for new evidence.
Dumb and getting dumber. McCann nor Ed Smart the brightest buttons in the box. How could the PJ possibly plant evidence in the car without Madeleines body ?

Elizabeth Smart Hits British News Stands With Her Web Of Deceit !
The Smart fraud, almost as huge as the McCann fraud . The media love to spin a fantasy and of course faked abduction's have become very trendy. The Daily Mail could give a hoot about investigative journalism or checking the mormon girl's witness testimony of the very bizarre tale she told on how she did not become pregnant during her nine month ordeal...Now here's a line for you to chew over before you read her sob story in the Mail
Elizabeth Smarts explanation for not getting pregnant during her ordeal was that her abductor would withdraw his penis at the point of orgasm and plunge it into the waiting vagina of her abductress - And if you have ever caught a glimpse of the drawers they wear that must have been some withdrawal method .

#Utah #Mormon : PRESS RELEASE - Attorney Seeks World-Wide Shutdown Of Mormon Church Missionary Program
Quote
This may come as a shock to the rank and file Mormons who are likely unaware that Doug Wallace, a retired 82 Year Old Attorney and former Mormon himself is leading an effort for all governments worldwide to expel Mormon Missionaries from their respective countries based on the L.D.S. White Horse Prophesy that I learned about as a child which essentially states that when the Constitution of the United States is “hanging by a thread,” which it is now (IMO), a Mormon will ascend to the Presidency and the U.S. would then become “the world headquarters of the Kingdom of God.” The Press release is quoted verbatim below which I have had to copy from a PDF document so please excuse the capital letters in which the original document is written...read more

Utah: Mormon Lies And Deception - Twelve Facts Most People Do Not Know About Their Sordid Past
A Mormon Speaks Out
I grew-up being indoctrinated in the faith known as Mormonism, and as a teenager I began to understand that several things didn’t add-up and lost my faith in a religion that to me, seemed to be of man and had nothing to do with God other than enriching the hierarchy of the Church leadership. Since I was a Mormon at one time I believed that I was well versed in Mormon history, but after watching the new H2 History Channel last night titled “Ten Things You Don’t Know About” which related to Mormon history, I realized there are many teaching that are not taught to members of the church, and according to polls on H2, approximately 80% of the general population remain in the dark about the true history of the Mormons. Some of these facts are sad, others are despicable, and one or two items are downright hilarious (to me) when I look back and remember the strict moral guidelines that the average members of the church are forced to adhere to. We subscribe to these History Channels and NatGeo to increase our knowledge and understanding of history and science and I hope that you find these facts as interesting as I did, whereas I’m sure that Mitt Romney and Mormons in general will not appreciate me attempting to convey their sordid past to the rest of the general public whom do not have the time or ability to view the H2 History Channel...read more

NWO Utah:Bush - Mormons And The Utah Spy Database - Remember Obama's Mother Was Baptized By The Mormons
Bush and the Mormons
By Suzan Mazur
A Mormon Temple - University City
That's J.W. "Bill" Marriott, Chairman of Marriott Corp. Briody speaks of, one of the world's most successful businessmen. Marriott's also one of the most celebrated members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints -- the Mormon Church.
While we know of George W. Bush's popularity with the American electorate who consider themselves evangelical, born-again Christians (42%) - the vote from Bush's Mormon base has not been counted.
Mormons are clearly not evangelical Christians. And there are 11 million of them. They run the "biggest and best" gun shows nationwide. They tend to vote Republican. And their church is rich, because it asks its members to tithe 10% of their annual income.
Smith started the Mormon religion. The Book of Mormon is based on a "translation" of golden tablets he said he found in upstate New York in the 1800s following visitation from an angel named Moroni. It describes a migration of ancient Israelites (Laminites) to Central America, who supposedly interbred with the indigenous population, and it regards Native Americans as descendants of those ancient Israelites.
Mormon scripture has been under intense scrutiny in recent years in the Financial Times (my 2/9/2002 story "Mormons in the Olympic spotlight"), from author Jon Krakaeur in his book Under The Banner of Heaven, from Tom Murphy and others. Murphy's challenge regarding Smith's Book of Mormon as a history of Native Americans led to an LDS attempt to excommunicate him, but the church eventually backed down under pressure from the media.
British researchers Tudor Parfitt and Neil Bradford, who've traced the tribes of Israel through DNA (the Lemba in South Africa), say they have no intention of testing Native Americans to see if they are descendants of the so-called Laminites. It is well established that Native Americans first migrated from Siberia over 10,000 years ago.
But despite the migration route and chronology being all wrong, genetic testing of Native Americans in Central American is still being discussed by a group of former Brigham Young University scientists who have the same financial sponsorship they had while working at BYU, which is an LDS church institution.
Mormons have historically played a significant behind-the-scenes money and power role in America. Sally Denton and Roger Morris have written about Mormon banker Parry Thomas's financing of Las Vegas, for example, in their book, The Money and the Power: The Making of Las Vegas and Its Hold on America.
So when I read Dan Briody's comment about Bill Marriott possibly knowing something the rest of the world didn't regarding the sale of its airline catering service to Carlyle, I paused and began to wonder about the volatile mix of Mormons, Carlyle connections and the timing of George W. Bush's meteoric political rise.
Carlyle "founding fathers" Dan Altobello, Steve Norris, Fred Malek and Dan D'Aniello, who participated in the catering service buyout by Carlyle, all came from the Marriott Mormon culture before joining Carlyle. Malek was number two man at Marriott and a former Director of the Republican Party; it was Malek who brought George W. Bush into the Carlyle fold.
Looking closer at the workings of the Mormon Church and its wealth - it is not particularly choosy about the source of its tithes. It accepts money, for example, from a circle of LDS lawyers, bankers and businessmen who represent the polygamist Mormons living out West.
Former Utah-based child advocate Jay Beswick sees these tithes as "blood money" because the lawyers, bankers and businessmen help to support a 10,000 member polygamist/pedophile colony - the Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints (FLDS) - on the Utah-Arizona border, which has branches in Texas, Idaho, Colorado, British Columbia and parts in between. Beswick says that if the main Mormon Church really opposed polygamy, it would reject the tithes and excommunicate the lot.
Rodney R. Parker, who legally represents the FLDS, is with the law firm of Snow, Christensen and Martineau which also represents the State of Utah. Parker served in 1988-89 during Bush I's administration as Associate Deputy Attorney General "on the immediate staff" of the Deputy Attorney General of the United States in Washington, D.C. Harold G. Christensen, Of Counsel, at Snow, Christensen served as Deputy Attorney General of the United States in both Bush I's and Ronald Reagan's administrations. Reed L. Martineau was President of the Utah Bar Association from 1987-88.
But getting back to the Briody comment. What could Bill Marriott have known that prompted him to sell his "gold plated" airline catering service to Carlyle, which Carlyle Managing Director David Rubenstein at the time called "the greatest deal since sliced bread"?
Did Marriott have an ear to the ground through Mormon missionary/intelligence connections about a brewing Gulf War which could kill his business? After all, it is widely known that Mormons have had a disproportionate representation in the CIA and FBI through the years, and that J. Edgar Hoover started the FBI with Mormon agents. They also have a disproportionate representation in the US Congress - five Mormon senators and 12 representatives - partly because of the concentration of Mormons in the Western US.
Or maybe Marriott sensed something from Bush I's National Security Adviser, General Brent Scowcroft - another LDS notable. Scowcroft now heads Bush II's President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board. And he has his own firm, Scowcroft Group, which sells intelligence to corporations worldwide.
Within reach is the possibility that the buyout of Marriott In-Flite Services by Carlyle was in part a quid pro quo for Mormon support of George W. Bush's political future.
Carlyle co-founder and Managing Director David Rubenstein was close to the Bush family and its cronies as he made apparent to Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association investors in the speech I first exposed in Progressive Review (Click here: HOW BUSH GOT BOUNCED FROM CARLYLE BOARD - Suzan Mazur, Progressive Review):"We'll put him [George W. Bush] on the board [Caterair] because - you know - we'll do a favor for this guy; he's done a favor for us."
The deal went down. Marriott In-Flite was taken private and renamed Caterair. Carlyle took a 50% stake, committing $93.8 million. George W. Bush was made a Managing Director in 1990. George H.W. Bush was US President at the time and would join Carlyle as an adviser after the Gulf War, and after being voted out of office.
Caterair would go into default in August 1994 with Carlyle's recovery 10 cents on the dollar. Rubenstein nudged George W. Bush into resigning from the board. Six months after leaving Carlyle, Bush ran for Governor of Texas. And then for US President in 2000.
The Mormons have been crucial to George W. Bush's political campaigns. A major supporter has been former Utah governor Mike Leavitt, now Bush II's EPA director. Leavitt is part of a 2,000 member clan.
I met his father Dixie during the Tom Green polygamy trial in 2001 in Provo, Utah. He told me in the courtroom that I'd find no cooperation if I attempted to research a book on polygamy there and sided with the polygamists saying, "At least they produce something".
Another LDS star who's been cheerleading for Bush is Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, mentioned as a possible 2008 Presidential candidate.
Then there's Karl Rove -- "Bush's Brain". Although Rove is not Mormon, he was nurtured in the Salt Lake City Mormon culture and educated at the University of Utah.
LDS church member Timothy E. Flanigan, Bush's former Deputy White House Counsel and a father of 14 children (opposes abortion), organized the Bush v. Gore Supreme Court legal argument and was later tasked with making the Homeland Security department come to life.
Harvard Business publications is Mormon-run. And the editor of Harvard Business Review as well as the Dean of Harvard Business School are Mormon.
Utah Senator Orrin Hatch is perhaps the best known LDS celebrity aside from Donny and Marie Osmond. Hatch chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee that oversees the Department of Justice and the FBI.
It is unlikely that any breakup of US government-subsidized polygamist sects will occur on his watch. Hatch announced last year at a town meeting in southern Utah, "I'm not here to justify polygamy. All I can say is I know people in Hildale [the FLDS colony on the Utah-Arizona border] who are polygamists who are very fine people. . . . I personally don't believe in polygamy. But I'm not going to judge others who feel differently."
So with no hearings scheduled on these cults anytime soon in the Senate Judiciary Committee, law enforcement is not pressed to do its job. Historically, FBI field offices nationwide have been "manned" by Mormons. The Mormon community thus continues to successfully contain the polygamy issue as it has for the last 100 years.
With the shortcomings of the FBI exposed in recent years, Dawin A. John was tapped by Director Rober Mueller to reorganize the FBI's computer files. What qualified Darwin A. John as bureau Chief Information Officer was his prior job as managing director of information and communication systems for the Mormon Church, where he'd served for 12 years.
So what does all the Mormon influence amount to? A reach for power like every other interest group, except that Mormons are loyal first to the church.
They see the polygamy issue as still smoldering. Tens of thousands of polygamist Mormons live out West from the Canadian to Mexican borders. Despite a federal law outlawing polygamy and a Supreme court ruling - Tom Green, the only convicted polygamist in 50 years in America, is currently appealing the US Supreme Court. If his case is accepted, it could lead to overturning the anti-polygamy law that Abe Lincoln championed. It would also clear the conscience of the Mormon community whose roots are in polgamy.
Moreover, Mormons opposed the Equal Rights Amendent and would like to see the abortion ruling on Roe v.Wade reversed. George W. Bush's promise to further empower faith-based institutions is something for American women especially to consider when voting November 2.
